October 17, 2106 delay in start date for chemo

Just got a call from DFCI, all labs and samples are NOT in...hence..I'm RESCHEDULED for OCTOBER 25! same time, same place....
I still do not know which treatment I will get, it's random and will only be revealed on the 25th! I asked if they were concerned about another week going by without treatment but they said it would be fine.
In other news...as an update...it's about my husband Mark. He got sick last Wednesday evening.. just not feeling well, but it kept blossoming and I thought maybe he had the flu. I got quite paranoid that I'd get sick before treatment. Well, Thursday he was laying low and had a headache, he took tylenol but that didn't seem to touch anything, then Friday came and he was increasingly sick and nauseated...leaving his sickness on the wooden floor - covered with a towel. I said I could not help because I was days away from chemo... so Saturday mid- morning he got up, looked horrible and then in PJ's and robe drove himself around the corner to the hospital.
The ER doctor wound up sending him home even though he suspected tick borne illness based on his labs...well the long story is ENCORE VISIT TO ER Mark was back with a super high fever just two hours after discharge... the next shift had a doctor who could clearly see this sick man and started his sleuth work. Mark was admitted to the hospital and is still there...anaplasmosis or Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. He's spotted from neck to foot, high fever, headaches and now with IV Doxycycline he is improving...little by little. Another set back in our fragile lives right now but maybe getting my appointment moved a week ahead is a blessing. and at least it's not the flu which I thought it could be.
I called my brother who was in Mass. visiting with friends until he heads back to Florida (as soon as he can), so he came out and we're going to have a roast chicken tonight..
So I'm grateful for all of you who have been getting ready for my very first chemotherapy infusion. In a way I feel tugged and let down since I geared up for the event. So bear with me and we'll continue the journey just a week later. Surely by then all my lab results and tissue samples will be in order. You just can't rush mother nature...
I can also use the time for downloading some relaxing music that doesn't have water in the background begging me to go pee!
